Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year! I am so happy that you will be part of our classroom family this year. We will be exploring a lot of great things this year. I hope you are ready!

Our theme this year is
"A Year of Pure Imagination!!"
Our Spring Production will be Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory!

Remember that we are Bully Free in District Three! If you see someone being bullied, stand up for them! Make a Difference! Remember, you can Be a Hero! We have set our Reading Challenge Goal-make sure you are reading books on your level! We will be discovering many wonderful new things this year! Remember that a good routine makes life so much easier. Make sure you are going to bed on time and getting enough sleep so you'll be ready to go! You should be in bed by 8:30-9:00 each night. Make sure to eat a good breakfast in order to fuel your body for your day ahead.  I love all of you, Burrell

Homework Quick Tips

 * Make sure your child has a quiet, well-lit place to do homework. Avoid having your child do homework with the television on or in places with other distractions, such as people coming and going.

* Make sure the materials your child needs, such as paper, pencils, and a dictionary, are available. Ask your child if special materials will be needed for some projects and get them in advance.

* When your child asks for help, provide guidance, not answers. Giving answers means your child will not learn the material.

* Be positive about homework. Tell your child how important school is. The attitude you express about homework will be the attitude your child acquires.

* If homework is meant to be done by your child alone, stay away. Too much parent involvement can prevent homework from having some positive effects.

* Help your child with time management. Establish a set time each day for doing homework. Don't let your child leave homework until just before bedtime.
