Most of our schools have reached a critical point where we are concerned about our ability to provide a safe learning environment for students due to the high percentage of staff members required to isolate or quarantine due to COVID-19 exposure. Additionally, we are experiencing a large increase in student absences districtwide.
Due to these increases, coupled with the shortage of substitute teachers, Spartanburg County School District Three students will participate in eLearning Days on Thursday, January 13 and Friday, January 14. All schools will be closed on Monday, January 17, 2022, in observance of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday. We plan to resume normal, in-person instruction on Tuesday, January 18, 2022.
All after-school activities including athletics and fine arts events will be postponed, beginning tomorrow, for all eLearning days. Your child’s school will provide specific instructions for eLearning assignments and expectations. If they are in need of any school-related materials or supplies, please contact your child’s school for arrangements.
Please know that this decision to temporarily transition to eLearning was not made lightly and we are doing everything in our power to be able to provide a safe and healthy learning environment for all students and staff. Thank you for your understanding as we work to make decisions that are in the best interest of our students, staff, and community.
